SOUTH BEACH DIET

BRAD Pitt and wife Angelina Jolie are both said to use South Beach Diet. WWW.29MEDIA.TUMBLR.COM

A low-carb, weight-loss diet with three phases designed to make you eliminate cravings (Phase 1), steadily lose weight (Phase 2) and maintain ideal weight for life (Phase 3).

No need to keep tabs on calories or measure your portions—the diet is so simple. Just choose from among the food groups you’re allowed to eat, and you’re good.

Phase 1 is very restrictive, so brace yourself for a possibly bumpy ride at the start. Diet is low in saturated fat so you don’t have to worry about it spiking your LDL. Consumption of unsaturated fat—mono and poly—is also healthy for your heart.

The Mayo Clinic says low-carb diets might cause your body to create an excess of acid and ketones, in a condition called ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis  occurs in people with Type 1 diabetes.

Complex carbs is good for regulating your insulin.

It recommends exercise, but does not include it in their weight-loss plan—so you won’t find any exercise guidelines in the book. If you want to lose weight and improve your health, you need to squeeze in an exercise regimen. Besides, weight-loss programs sans exercise almost always fail in the long run.

Quick weight loss. Phase 1 can make you lose up to 13 pounds. (This can also be a bad thing.)

No starving. There’s a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack, so there’s always food to fill your belly.

Rapid weight loss. A weight loss of no more than two pounds a week is recommended for good health.

ATKINS DIET

A no-sugar, high-protein, low-carb diet that promises weight loss without feeling hungry, and better heart health and memory function. Comes in four phases: Phase 1 (Induction), the most restrictive and hardest part of the program; Phase 2 (Ongoing Weight Loss), increasing carb intake every week by five grams; Phase 3 (Pre-Maintenance), continue increasing carbs to up to 10 grams per week; and Phase 4 (Maintenance), where you’re allowed a maximum amount of carbs to maintain weight.

Allows you to eat almost everything forbidden in most weight-loss programs, like steak, bacon and other high-fat food like real cheese, real mayo, real butter.

No hunger pangs. There is no portion size limit, so you can eat until full as long as you eat only the permitted foods.

Quick weight loss, especially in Phase 1. While most health practitioners do not recommend this, it does keep you motivated to move forward in your weight-loss journey.

Some studies suggest Atkins Diet lowers a person’s risk for heart disease and lowers the body cholesterol. (Other researchers claim the opposite.)

Expensive. Buying large amounts of meat is much more expensive than filling your belly with rice, pan de sal or pasta.

High in fat. Atkins Diet believes proteins and fat help the body feel full. But high-fat foods can spike your body cholesterol, and are generally not good for you in the long run.

Restrictions on certain fruits and vegetables. This can deprive you of antioxidants necessary to help you fight diseases, including cardiovascular disease and cancer. The fiber restriction can lead to bowel disease.

Cheating. The restrictive diet, while it may curve your hunger pangs, can make you yearn for the forbidden. When you slip, the pounds lost can come back very quickly.

DUKAN DIET

DUCHESS Kate Middleton is said to have used Dukan Diet in preparation for her marriage. ARTICLEOFHEALTH.COM

One of the most popular diets in France, the Dukan Diet is a protein-based diet that promises to “redesign your eating habits and help you permanently stabilize your weight.” In other words, no more yo-yo dieting. Comes in four phases: Phase 1 (Attack), kickstarting your diet with 68 high-protein food to immediate weight loss; Phase 2 (Cruise) adds 32 veggies to help take you to your true weight (a realistic number), but still steadily shedding off the excess pounds; Phase 3 (Consolidation), designed to prevent rebound; Phase 4 (Permanent Stabilization), the phase you maintain for life to help you stay at your ideal weight, with a pure-protein Thursday menu similar to the Attack phase.

Dukan Diet has a successful track record. Weight loss is guaranteed. It works.

Forget about counting calories and weighing food. Those are not realistic goals to maintain for a lifetime for most people. This one is simple to follow.

Eat as much as you want, as long as they’re in the permitted-food list. You are even allowed to indulge yourself in Phases 3 and 4. This is especially important so you can still have a normal

social life even while on the program.

Exercise. Makes you choose the stairs instead of using the elevator. A little exercise is always good for your heart.

Low in sodium, and may be helpful to lowering your blood pressure.

Some people experience flu-like symptoms or headaches in Phase 1. As with any diet, consult your doctor before pursuing. Some people do feel some sort of a withdrawal syndrome, especially from sugar, regardless of the weight-loss program.

Phase 1 and Phase 2 are restrictive, so better plan ahead how to manage your social life. This is very important if your job includes entertaining clients and guests or regularly attending conventions with buffet spreads.

Although the diet has been around for 30 years, the book was only published in the UK in 2010 and in the US in 2011.

Poor in dietary fiber that may lead to constipation in Phase 1. Dukan Diet does prescribe oat bran supplementation to help you in this area.

COHEN DIET

BEA Alonzo on Cohen Diet. JIM GUIAO PUNZALAN

A unique weight-loss program based on your blood profile test results. This is not  a high protein, low-carb, low-sugar diet. Your blood profile determines your personal weight-loss plan, supplying your body with food that will help your body rid itself of excess fat.

No pills, no supplements except for the regular multivitamin tablet. Since the diet is an individually determined, balanced eating plan, the body still gets all the essential nutrients it needs to be healthy.

Almost all kinds of food are allowed, but in small volume. This will somehow curb your cravings.

Substitutions are allowed. For instance, when the need to socialize is important, you can opt to have a glass of wine instead of fruit.

Meals must be prepared to exact measure. If lunch requires 170 g of turkey cutlets, then you must measure your turkey cutlets precisely. This is tedious and time-consuming.

Programs can go as low as 600 calories per day. As anyone who has ever dieted will tell you, consuming only 600 calories a day can make you want to butcher and cook the first live cow you see for dinner. (Weight-loss programs range from 600 to 1,600 calories per day.)

If you don’t like to cook, have someone cook for you. The meals require time to prepare.

Expensive. Blood tests will need to be sent abroad. Be ready to shell out around P50,000.

BLOOD TYPE DIET

Eat the right foods for your blood type (A, B, AB or O) and be on your way to a healthier and slimmer you. Following the Blood Type Diet promises you’ll have less inflammation and bloating, and helps boost your metabolism. It even determines how you exercise.

PORTIA de Rossi is said to be on Blood Type Diet. TWS3D.COM

Includes a form of exercise—whether gentle, moderate or vigorous —for all blood types.

Claims to assist your body with allergy and infection resistance.

COURTENEY Cox, the Blood Type Diet devotee. 518GIRLZ.COM

The program may sound ridiculous and bogus, but many have actually reported benefiting from the Blood Type Diet.

Organic food is encouraged. The less toxins your body has to take, the better it is for you.

Supplements for different blood types—loads of them—created by no less than the author of the diet, Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo.

The author has years of experience as a naturopathic doctor, but is not a medical doctor. This can be off-putting for people who want to know the hard scientific facts behind his claims.

People who are not fond of eating meat will suddenly be asked to eat road kill.

Long list of banned foods for your blood type is not realistic to keep in the long haul.

HCG DIET

FORMER US President Bill Clinton is said to have used Atkins Diet. ROCHESTER.EDU

HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) Diet is an extremely restrictive 500-calorie diet that can make you lose up to 30 pounds a month. It either prescribes HCG drops or injections.

Rapid weight loss. This is a highly controversial diet that’s been called a scam and dangerous, and may possibly carry many health risks. The FDA has recently banned the homeopathic HCG concoctions as weight-loss supplements. HCG is a fertility aid used by men and women. It is a hormone produced by women during pregnancy to help sustain the growing fetus. Weight loss from the HCG Diet is believed to be caused by the patient barely eating anything, and not the HCG supplementation itself. FDA only approves HCG injectable prescription drug for some cases of female infertility treatment and other medical conditions.

LEMON JUICE DIET (MASTER CLEANSE)

Master Cleanse is an all-natural liquid fast that promises extreme weight loss of between 10 and 40 pounds in two weeks. The program only allows the consumption of lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup mixed in water for 10-40 days.

Gives your gastrointestinal system a break, and can help restore your body’s natural pH balance.

BEYONCÉ told Oprah she dropped 20 pounds on Master Cleanse.

Rapid weight loss.

The Mayo Clinic said detox diets can lead to dehydration, dizziness, fatigue and stomach problems. Do not go for more than 10 days without solid food, as this can be stressful to your GI tract.

The program has very low nutrient value that can sap your energy and  slow down your metabolism.

If using the diet as a means to lose weight permanently, be prepared for failure. The low calories can cause your body to go into starvation mode, when your body holds on instead to every gram of fat it can because it thinks you might need it to survive.

Lost weight is most likely fluid loss. They will come back when you start eating solid food again.

FIT FOR LIFE

Developed in the 1980s, Fit for Life makes you eat foods in the correct combination, avoid the wrong combinations, and be on your way to losing the excess poundage.

No specific claims on how many pounds you’ll lose in a certain time period, but weight loss is guaranteed.

Increased energy.

General health improvement.

Encourages you to consume more fruits and veggies. Decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease

No need to purchase special food except enzyme supplements from Fit for Life Industries.

Fruits and veggies may not provide your body with sufficient nutrients.

Food combinations can sometimes be complicated to follow. This can discourage dieters from finishing the program.

Banning dairy products might make it difficult for some people to meet  the daily allowance recommended for calcium consumption.

ANTI-INFLAMMATION DIET

Although this is not a weight-loss diet, it can still make you lose weight. The Anti-Inflammation Diet is based on the premise that by carefully selecting and preparing your meals based on scientific studies of how food can help your body, you can maintain optimum health. It is an eating plan for life.

Consumption of saturated and transfats is at a minimum.

If you love spices, you’ll love this diet as it encourages curry, ginger and other spices that all have anti-inflammatory effects.

Eating plenty of fruits and veggies.

Consuming Omega-3 fatty acids from fish or fish oil supplements, and walnuts. This is especially good for those with rheumatoid arthritis.

Critics say there aren’t sufficient studies to claim food affects inflammation.

Like all natural medicine such as herbs, the Anti-Inflammation Diet works longer than anti-inflammation drugs. The drugs take effect in an hour or two, while the diet might take weeks.

Foods that keep you cool in summer

Gear up for the rise in mercury level. Eat the right foods that will keep you hydrated and healthy

It’s that time of the year when you start reaching for diet sodas, ice cubes and the remote to the air conditioner. But the quick relief can lead rather quickly to the opposite of what you intended. Anything lower than your actual body temperature produces a cooling effect only initially. Then, after about 20 minutes, the opposite happens.

Drinking very cold liquids may lead to constriction of the blood vessels and decrease heat loss from the body, which is bad when trying to cool down.

So stock up that refrigerator and kitchen with the right foods, not just to keep the temperature from raging but also to look and smell nice.

Smell right
Body odour is caused by the deficiency of zinc in our diet. Odorous sweat can be effectively avoided by consuming foods rich in zinc. Simple measures, such as adding wheat bran to your oats breakfast consumed with cold milk, can help. Shell fish, almonds, peanuts, dried watermelon seeds and sprouts are also rich sources of zinc.

Stay cool
Nutritionist Jyoti Lalwani highly recommends eating curd, drinking coconut water and sugarcane juice during summers. Intestinal infections such as cholera, typhoid, amoebiasis find it easy to surface during a warm climate. Eating curd helps increase the friendly bacteria in the intestines. These bacteria promote digestion and boost immunity. Due to sweating, water and many essential minerals are lost from the body which makes you feel tired and sluggish. Coconut water is packed with simple sugars, electrolytes, and minerals that replenish hydration levels. Research suggest that coconut water also has anti-ageing and anticancer properties. Sugar cane juice comes in handy for those who exercise or work out during summers. Containing only natural sugars, it not only cools the body but also energises with a high quantity of carbohydrates and proteins. The nutrients found in sugarcane are beneficial for the functioning of the kidneys, heart and the brain.

Nutritionist Naini Setalvad suggests eating raw mango to prevent sunstrokes and summer typhoid. “Have raw mango in any form, whether sliced and tossed in bhel or as a drink called ‘panha’,” she says. It contains natural sugar and prevents constipation. You can also consume musk melon and water melon which comprises of 90 per cent water. Lalwani adds cucumbers, bell peppers and ice-berg lettuce to the list of naturally watery food items. “These prevent urine from being acidic in the summer,” she says. Buttermilk and lemon juice are couple of other drinks that help cool the body and up immunity.

Veggie edge
Light to digest, water-based vegetables are recommended for the summer. Heavy, oil based foods are not water rich. When your body is losing plenty of water already, digestion of heavy foods depletes the levels of water further. The result is fatigue, poor concentration, light headedness and decreased metabolism.

Stockup on doodhi, parhwal and pumpkin as they are full of fibre and easy to digest. Other water rich vegetables that can be included in your diet include cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms. Basmati rich with curd is another good summer food choice. Fish meat is preferable to chicken. However, chicken can be marinated in curd and cooked in low cal recipes. While dry fruits such as figs and raisins can be eaten without worry, cashews and pistachios should be avoided as they are ‘heaty’ in nature and difficult to digest.

Look good
Summer causes a bleaching effect on your hair and skin. The heat may damage your hair cuticle resulting in dry, split, frizzy hair and ragged ends.

Including amino acids rich in Vitamin E to your daily diet to restore the quality of hair during days of high temperature. Egg whites, sprouts and flax seeds are excellent choices for this purpose. Flax seeds also contribute majorly in the digestion of fat.

The heat and humidity leads to formation of wrinkles, age spots, rashes and clogged pores on the skin. Eat lots of mangoes for a smooth skin. Mangoes are rich in Vitamin A and repair the skin cells that preventing it from looking flaky and wrinkly. Vitamin A also promotes the production of skin-building compounds that form new skin cells.

Add selenium rich foods, such as cottage cheese, brown rice, eggs, onions, mushrooms and sunflower seeds to your diet. Selenium is an essential mineral for a youthful, glowing skin.

It is known to protect skin against UV-induced damage and cancer. Selenium deficiency compromises protective antioxidant enzymes in the skin and can cause abnormalities during summers.

Diet can help get a grip on gout

Many of us would love to have something in common with royalty.  But getting the “Disease of Kings” is not the way to do it!

Gout earned that title centuries ago because it was most common in people who ate rich foods – which at that time meant they were probably royalty.   Of course, you don’t have to have royal blood to have gout, but it’s still true that what you eat may have a strong impact on whether you develop the condition or not.

Gout is a type of arthritis that usually starts in the big toe, but it can attack other joints as well. While I’ve never had gout personally, I know people who have it and from the swelling, inflammation, and the way they limp, it appears really painful.

One of the problems with gout is that it may seem like nothing significant at first – just a sore toe.  But if you have gout, getting quick treatment can make a big difference in how long the pain will last.

Some of the big risk factors for gout are being a man over the age of 40, being a woman after menopause, being obese, or having a family history of gout.

I really believe it is important to know your family history.  Many diseases, including gout, tend to run in families.  So be sure to find out what conditions your close relatives have had so you know what you have a higher risk of contracting.   If gout runs in your family, you’ll know to get to the doctor right away if you have a sore joint on your foot.

Sometimes gout will show up, but then go away a few days later.  Other times, gout keeps coming back.  If that happens, something must be triggering it.  If you keep getting it over and over, you need to figure out why.  Some medications can trigger gout, so talk to your doctor to see if you are taking something that increases your risk.

While being overweight can add to your risk of getting gout, losing weight can sometimes cause it too.  Diets that are low in carbohydrates are naturally high in protein.  Dr. Connie Mariano, a former White House physician, told me that an important step in reducing gout is to avoid foods that are high in purines, like red meat and animal products.  So if you are at risk for gout, you’ll do better with a different way to lose weight other than a low-carb diet.

Gout is one of the oldest recorded medical disorders, which made me wonder about other ways to treat it besides Western medicines.  I turned to one of our EmpowHER doctors Dr. Maoshing Ni, a 38th generation practitioner of Chinese medicine.  He recommended several foods that you might already have in your refrigerator – including garlic and scallions – to help open up the joints and circulation.  His video on foods to ease arthritis has a recipe for a tea to loosen up your joints.

Our gout community also has more resources to help with gout symptoms, along with a forum for people to share their story with others who have gout. For me, it always comes back to knowing your own body and listening to what it’s trying to tell you.  Knowing your family history and being aware of how the foods you eat can affect your body are both important tools you can use to protect your health.

Raspberry Ketones: Raspberry Ketone Pure Weight Loss Supplement Wins Best in Class

Can raspberry ketones really be the miracle fat burner in a bottle? Ketones from red raspberries are currently being advertised and promoted to help slice up and break up fat inside cells and boost your metabolism to help burn your body fat naturally. But what’s the truth about raspberry ketone weight loss results?

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 30, 2012

Red raspberries are nothing new when it comes to their health benefits, and neither are ketones. In fact, raspberry ketones have been on the FDA GRAS (generally recognized as safe) list since 1965. That begs the question as to why the sudden surge and excitement surrounding red raspberries and their special ketones?

Dr Oz, on his popular day-time TV show centered around healthy advice towards leading a higher quality of life through good nutrition, exercise and supplementation; recently aired a show titled “5 Fat Busters, for 5 Body Types, in 5 Days” and featured his number 1 most recommended weight loss supplement and ingredient as raspberry ketones.

Also featured was weight loss expert Lisa Lynn, who showcased a few of her personal clients and their ability to lose weight fast with raspberry ketone supplementation. Dr Oz spoke extremely highly of ketones from red raspberries and labeled them as a miracle fat burner in a bottle to help boost your metabolism and burn excess body fat.

Most of us associate red raspberries with their heavenly taste and sweet aroma rather than having weight loss effects. But it is the raspberry ketones that are primarily responsible for their smell and taste.

What makes the raspberry ketone weight loss possible is their effect on a hormone known as adiponectin, which naturally boosts your metabolism and tricks your body into thinking you are thin. The ketones from red raspberries break up the fat within your cells more effectively which helps burn fat more efficiently.

The first airing of the TV show back in February 2012 was 5 tips to boost your metabolism and stop gaining weight. Then eventually re-aired the show in late March 2012 and ever since these two shows have been brought to mainstream media and discussion, there have been an explosion of choices and selections when deciding which raspberry ketone product to buy.

Most of these companies and their new raspberry ketone supplements are simply trying to cash in on the buzz and excitement created by Dr Oz. In order to receive the maximum health benefits raspberry ketones can provide towards your weight loss goals, you must choose from a credible company who sources their natural ingredients with the highest quality manufacturing processes with your best interest in mind.

After reviewing all of the Raspberry Ketone Supplements available online, there is one which stands head and shoulders above the rest by the name of Raspberry Ketone Pure.

Raspberry Ketone Pure features 6 scientifically researched ingredients which support weight loss such as; raspberry ketones, African mango, acai berry, resveratrol, grapefruit and kelp extracts. They are also a BBB (Better Business Bureau) accredited company with an A+ rating and have been in business for over 10 years with prior success and products in other areas of health and nutrition.

As always, there are three main staples which anyone should choose to follow no matter what diet program or health supplement you decide to follow.

1) Hydration – always keep in mind that nothing replaces water, not soda pop, not coffee, or fruit juices.

2) Whole Foods – no matter the weight loss supplement of your choice, choosing to be active in eating a wholefoods diet full of vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, beans, brown rice, and fresh meats will far out weigh any supplements available.

3) Rest and Sleep – knowing the fact that the body restores, replenishes, and repairs itself the best while in deep sleep and relaxation is always something we must remind ourselves of on a daily basis.

There are now many different Raspberry Ketone products available online with the explosion and high demand Dr Oz caused. After careful research and due diligence, Raspberry Ketone Pure wins best in class among the wide variety of cheap, non-effective weight loss supplements.

If you are looking to lose weight naturally along with implementing better dietary habits and lifestyle choices, the Raspberry Ketone Pure supplement can be a wise choice for you to make starting today.

Plan What You Eat, Buy What You Plan

When I give talks to parents, I love to ask this question:

“How many of you go to the grocery store, load up your cart with all sorts of food, spend a hundred dollars or more, and after you’ve come home and put it all away still have no idea what you’re going to make for dinner?”

Expectedly, looks of embarrassment accompany a lot of raised hands. And someone usually ends up whining that it’s just soooooo hhaaaaard.

Hard? To make a list of what you’re going to eat and buy the ingredients to make it? Often when I press my group, I discover that many have had or are in careers that require extraordinary skills of organization. Which helps me make my point – if you’re a former schoolteacher, an oncology nurse or a marketing executive, making a meal plan should be child’s play, and the accompanying cost and time savings should be motivatingly appealing.

Meal planning is an effective exercise both for people who are hyper-organized like me and those who like to be more spontaneous in their nightly meal creation. By having a framework, you buy only what you need (meaning you spend less time in the store), less food goes to waste (because you use what you buy), and you avoid the panic that sets in when you have no idea what to prepare.

My situation isn’t unique. I run my own practice, have two elementary school-aged kids with enough activities to require regular shuttling to something, I pitch in a lot at their school and have additional commitments to some pretty robust advocacy work. My days are full, not unlike a busy stay-at-home or working parent. It would be easy to throw up my hands and throw a frozen lasagna in the oven or insist we go out, but that puts my and my family’s diet in the hands of food manufacturers and restaurant owners, and I’m not ready to relinquish that.

So here’s how it works for me – feel free to steal my strategy or modify it to suit your particular schedule.

First, I keep a yellow pad on the kitchen counter at all times. When we run out of something, I write it down. There are also always things I buy each week – milk, eggs, trail mix – so those make it on that list as well (because, yes, as organized as I am, I have forgotten to buy milk if it’s not on the list).

Second, at some point before Thursday night, I work out six dinners for the week (my husband takes care of one night) and write them down. If any of us have activities during the week, I note those on that list. For example, if a Cub Scouts meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., then we may have to eat early, which means I need to make something that night that can get put together fast – or serve leftovers. If I’ve got more wiggle room, I have time for something that requires more prep.

Third, using this plan I make my grocery list, adding items to that same yellow pad in the kitchen. On Friday, which is my shopping day, I’m ready to rock.

I can hear some of you now – “Is she serious?” Put on paper, it may seem intimidating, but folks, it’s just a plan and it’s just a list, and it could seriously transform your grocery and mealtime experience. So here are a few more tips.

Don’t try this all at once. If you haven’t been a meal planner until now, trying to embrace this full-on will backfire. Try planning two meals a week for a couple weeks, then three, then four. Pretty soon you’ll wonder how you did it any other way.

Before you make your grocery list, check to see what you already have. There are certain foods I typically have on hand, but I can run out. I always check the pantry and the freezer for supplies so I don’t buy something I already have. I’ll also do a quick recce before I make my meal plan just in case, for example, there are a couple of chicken breasts in the freezer that can be made into a stir fry.

Plan leftovers. There will always be meals that can be reheated another night. Write it on your plan to do that and give yourself a night off. Plan your nights out as well. Now that you have a plan for the other nights, nights out won’t become a default.

If you end up not making meal on a night you planned because something came up, move that meal to the following week. The benefit there is that you’ve already planned it and bought the goods. Make sure it’s on your plan for early the following week so things don’t spoil.

Have a CORN night. I can’t recall where I recently read this, but the author’s family regularly engaged in a CORN, or Clean Out Refrigerator Night. It’s potluck where everyone gets the last portion of something they like before it becomes too old for consumption. Those single portions are great for lunches too.

I also have a number of friends who have taken to cooking all their meals for the week in a couple of hours on a weekend day because they can’t put something from scratch on the table every night. It still takes planning, freeing up your weeknights to enjoy a great meal without the extensive prep.

It’s really not that hard. Have a go.

App Gives Cash For Losing Weight

DENVER (CBS4) – A new application for smartphones could help people lose weight while making money — but there’s a catch.

4 On Your Side Moneysaver Suzanne McCarroll says those who don’t stick to their exercise routine will be the one paying.

Richard is lighter now, but the weight loss comes after many failed attempts. It was an app that helped him tone his abs. The app called “Gym Pact” turned richard into a gym rat.

“You go to the gym, you make money. You don’t go, you lose money. It makes enforcing your fitness really simple math,” Richard said.

Sign up, commit to going a certain number of times per week and agree that you’ll pay a fee for each time you miss.

“I do $10 per session and made a pact to go three times per week, so I have a chance of losing $30 per week, which is enough for me,” Richard said.

A group of Harvard college students designed the app. If you stay true to your treadmill commitment each week you can also earn money.

It doesn’t matter what activity you choose at your gym, just don’t try to cheat because the app has a GPS tracking system so it knows if you’re home being a couch potato.

You only get credit if you spend a minimum of 30 minutes at the gym. And you won’t get rich on your earnings, but you might get thin.
