Dr. Oz Reveals ‘Total 10′ Diet Plan With No Need for Exercise

Dr. Oz has a new diet plan, which he says triggers your own hormones to fight fat. ET is breaking down the tips from his Total 10 Rapid Weight-Loss Plan.

Many have lost nine pounds in two weeks on his plan, which seems to take a back-to-basics approach. One surprising takeaway is that carbs can be good after the first two weeks.

“I actually think it’s wise to periodically take a large carb load in, because it reminds your hormones that you’re not in a starvation mode, so it’ll relax those hormones so they keep your metabolism pretty high,” Dr. Oz told ET. “So every couple days you actually should go out and have a great time. Listen, at the end of the day, life’s about enjoying it.”

Here are more tips for a successful weight-loss plan.

Ditch the coffee. Starting the day with a hot cup of water with lemon can kick-start your digestion process for the day, while also increasing detoxification. The bitterness of the lemon “activates the bile flow, which helps emulsify and remove fat-soluble toxins,” according to the Dr. Oz website.

Stick with protein. Having a protein smoothie for breakfast can help reduce your hunger hormone. Continuing with protein throughout the day can help with metabolism as high-protein meals take more work to digest. Additionally, the amino acids in protein help build lean muscle, which makes you more toned and helps burn calories when you aren’t being active.

Snacks are okay. Two snacks are allowed on the plan per day. The plan includes snack recipes for kale chips, quinoa almond butter balls, crunchy fire lentils and more. You can also eat the Total 10 Vegetable Broth in unlimited doses. The vegetables included in the broth take a while for the body to absorb, which keeps you fuller longer.
