Jennifer Lopez’s 10-pound weight loss due to vegan diet: Unveils fitness plan

Jennifer Lopez has launched a fitness program to help women achieve their weight loss goals. Lopez recently credited a low carb vegan diet for her 10-pound weight loss and hopes to help others achieve their fitness goals.

Lopez has partnered with BodyLab, which sells a line of nutritional supplements and protein shakes that aims to boost metabolism and weight loss. Jennifer said women burn fat differently than men, which is why they need different dietary supplements.

“The way we burn fat, our different stressors, things about our metabolism [are] totally different than men,” Lopez told ABC News Jan. 8. The mom of two said she has a protein shake every morning to give her sustained energy and curb her appetite.

Jennifer looks better than ever at 45, thanks to daily exercise and a low carb vegan diet. In 2014, Lopez lost 10 pounds in five weeks by following a low carb, gluten-free vegan diet, Celebrity Health reported. Jennifer followed a 100% vegan diet for five weeks and felt incredible. “It was a real change,” she said. “I felt better.”

Lopez has since begun incorporating some animal protein into her diet, but sticks to a mostly vegan diet because it has motivated her to eat more vegetables. “The truth is, even if you’re 70 to 80 percent vegan, it’s so much better having those vegetables, greens, and plant-based stuff,” said Jennifer. “It’s going to change your life and health.”

Lopez’s foray into veganism was inspired by the 22-day vegan diet challenge Beyonce and Jay-Z undertook in December 2013. The 22-day vegan cleanse was designed by Beyonce’s trainer, exercise physiologist Marco Borges. Beyonce and Jay-Z have since resumed their regular eating plans, but Beyonce continues to eat one vegan meal a day, saying it helps her maintain her 65-pound post-baby weight loss.

In addition to a healthy diet, Lopez’s anti-aging beauty secrets include rigorous workouts. Jennifer does high-intensity cardio dance exercise with light strength-training using body weight and high repetitions done with light hand weights.
