Mike Tyson’s vegan diet plan: Can he stick to it?

Mike Tyson’s vegan diet plan seems to be working for him, reported Rolling Out on April 12. The 46-year-old retired boxer, who was diagnosed with high blood pressure and who took cocaine and other drugs in the past, shed 100 pounds by adhering to vegan meals.

“I lost weight, I dropped over 100 pounds. I just felt like changing my life, doing something different. And so I became a vegan. Becoming a vegan, it gave me another opportunity to live a healthy life. I was just . . . so congested from all the drugs and bad cocaine, and I couldn’t hardly breathe, [I had] high blood pressure . . . and arthritis. Once I became a vegan, all that stuff, it diminished.”

However, will Mike Tyson’s vegan diet plan continue to work for him? As reported at The Healthy Home Economist, approximately 75% of vegetarians return to eating meat due to cravings or just feeling hungry all the time. Another factor was declining health. Some non-meat eaters experience persistent physical weakness over time.

Actor Mike Tyson arrives at the Dimension Films' 'Scary Movie 5' premiere at the ArcLight Cinemas Cinerama Dome on April 11, 2013 in Hollywood, California.

Fans of Mike Tyson hope that whatever the case may be, the boxer stays as healthy as he’s feeling today.
