A woman who was left devastated after being dumped by her boyfriend lost six stone by following Victoria Beckham’s favourite diet.

Mimi Cizmara, who hails from London, was distraught after her long-term boyfriend broke up with her at her heaviest weight – 17 stone.

The 5ft 5in waitress vowed to lose weight and find herself a new man, and decided to try the alkaline diet.

Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston and Kirsten Dunst are said to swear by the unusual diet, which involves passing urine on an alkaline strip every morning to check acid levels.

The ultra-strict regime warns against
‘very acid forming’ foods like starchy grains and vegetables such as
pasta, wheat and beans, all dairy products, meat, fish and shellfish.

Although she found it gruelling, her hard work paid off and she managed to drop six stone in 12 months.

‘I knew I had to do something about my weight,’ she explained.

‘I felt rubbish about myself after being dumped and I wanted a makeover. I missed walking down the street and having people notice me for being attractive, not for being fat.’

After sticking to the plan for a year, Mimi slimmed from a size 18 to a size 8.

‘Now when I walk down the street people turn their heads and I know they think I look good,’ she said.

‘I’ve even been approached to do modelling, I feel fantastic. I haven’t found a new man yet, but it isn’t because I haven’t had any offers. I get loads of attention off guys now.’

Mimi began putting on weight three years ago after becoming comfortable in her relationship with her long-term boyfriend.

The couple moved in together in January 2010 and Mimi went from 11 stone to 17 stone at her heaviest.

She would sit on the sofa every night eating chips and greasy takeaways.

But in November 2012, when Mimi was at her heaviest, she was dumped.

‘My weight just spiralled,’ she said.

‘I was eating chocolate, sweets and crisps all evening and then having problems sleeping, so I would eat through my tiredness the next day.

‘I knew I was getting fat, but I was comfortable in my relationship so I didn’t care. I was heartbroken when we broke up, but now I’m glad I was dumped. It was just the thing I needed to lose weight.’

She researched diets and came across the alkaline diet, which involves eating predominantly alkaline foods in an effort to keep the body’s pH between 7.35 and 7.45.

On average, you can eat vegetables, fruit and a very minimal amount of meat, and only drink water.

She would eat natural yoghurt in the morning, a chicken salad for lunch and homemade vegetable soup in the evening.

Mimi tested her urine every morning
with alkaline sticks – which cost around £8.99 for a pack of 100 – to
check her levels were in the ‘healthy’ category; if they were too acidic she wouldn’t eat any sugar, including fruit, the next day.

A year later she had lost six stone and feels better than ever.

She said: ‘The weight fell off me so quickly. I was really surprised – I lost most of the weight in two months.

‘Dark chocolate is my guilty pleasure, so I allowed myself that every now and again. But the diet itself was really strict, it was hard to stick to but I knew I could do it.

‘I had so much more energy after a while. At the beginning I didn’t move a finger, but then after I lost the first couple of stone I started jogging then I joined the gym afterwards.

‘I’ll never go back to the way I was.’

Regardless what kind of diet she done and whatever size she is now she looks great. Why does everyone still have to be so negative. Well done to her.

Reading comments and some of you go out and attack the pool girl. She lost the weight fair play, she obviously had to and she shows people can do it and yet people decide to criticise her size 8 figure. When are people ever going to just say nice things. I’d love too see who these immature people are hiding behind a screen! Who cares if your ‘skinnier’ than her or disagree on the size 8. God we give out obesity is off the scale yet when we actually see someone do something bout it you give out more! Want her to develop a complex now and lose more weight would that satisfy you guys???? Rant over!

Good on her, she’s stuck to an awful, horrible diet for the last year and lost a lot of weight – I couldn’t do it that way I must confess – its clean eating and exercise for me. Please though DM, stop the rubbish with the dress sizes – I’m 5ft6″ so only an inch taller than her and when I weigh 11 stone I am a size 14 – when I get to 9.5 stone I’m a small 12 – I’ve NEVER been a size 8 – mainly because I work out a lot and wouldn’t want my muscle mass to drop low enough to weigh the 8 stone I’d need to be to be a size 8. She looks great, she’s done well – be accurate or the whole story is lost and people focus on the fact that she’s apparently lying about her dress size.

I thought an alkaline diet was the treatment for bile and acid. Explains why some famous people need it.

Thought she looked great before anyway. However she looks, as long as she’s happy to be at the weight SHE wants to be, nobody else.

I’m 5’7″ weigh 9st 5lbs… I am a size 10. At my very smallest I weighed 8.10 could possibly have just about squeezed myself into some size 8’s. There is absolutely no way she’s a size 8 (even a generous one!) given those stats. I think it’s great that she’s making a healthier lifestyle choice but why do people that have lost lots of weight like this insist that they’re so much smaller than they very obviously are??!
